Question, is the guy giving you money or taking it off you...
E Marketplaces
Oh the promises of online riches!
We've all seen them!
Indeed many will have paid out to the latest no brainer easy road to becoming a zillionaire course only to find it is way harder than it looks.
However, it is possible to make money online and I am speaking as someone who has done it.
If I can do it, anyone can. But If I can do it, the tax man knows about it. Does he know about you?
Yes and no? Perhaps you have make a few pounds, but neglected to tell the Taxman. Maybe you think 'what he doesnt know won't hurt him'.True, but it may well come back to hurt you.
There are as almost as many ways of making money on the internet as there are ways of the Taxman finding out about it
Well maybe not, but there are many ways of catching you out and there is money to be made by the Tax man by targeting you and your online enterprises.
Announcing the 'E Marketplaces tax plan', planned for roll-out in March 2012, to be the latest in the HMRC long line of voluntary disclosure offerings, where you are given the chance to come clean with a penalty reduction offer or wait for the catch up if you let it slip by.
The focus here will be on people are using e-marketplaces to buy and sell goods as a trade or business and who fail to pay the tax owed. The HMRC web link reads: "People who only sell a few items and who are not traders are unlikely to be liable to tax and will not be targeted by this campaign".If you think this may apply to you get advice sooner rather than later.
